We work hard to protect what you’ve worked hard for.

Our firm has become known as the firm that fights for the underdog and we built our DUI and criminal practice by taking on impossible-to-win cases. Most people consider bankruptcy as another word for failure. However, a great majority of hard-working families in this country are one catastrophe or medical incident away from losing everything they have worked their entire lives to build. Due to current events, the economy does not appear to be getting better any time soon.

In response to the declining economy and in an effort to level the playing field against creditors, MRLS has joined forces with a peer in the bankruptcy industry who has a system proven to help you come out on top. This system is not new—it’s backed by more than 20 years of experience. It helps hard-working families like youzrs get the monkey off your back and eliminate debt by giving you the tools to develop an understanding of money and finance. Most importantly it allows you a fresh start at rebuilding the future you deserve.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE PROCESS AND STEPS TO PREPARE FOR YOUR STRATEGY SESSION

After you have completed an initial consultation with our admin team and we have decided we are a good fit an invoice and contract will be sent to the email address you provided to us. Once the contract is signed and returned and the invoice paid, we will schedule a strategy session for you.

Your strategy session will last approximately one hour and we ask that you bring anything you believe we need to know. We also ask that you bring along anyone else who would know your financial situation to help put the pieces together. Rest assured that everything we discuss is always confidential.

The bankruptcy code is like a big book with lots of chapters but there are really only 2 chapters that apply to most people which are Chapter 7 (debt elimination) and Chapter 13 (debt consolidation). In determining if bankruptcy is the right path for you we will look at a number of things such as which, if any, type of filing best suits you.

Chapter 7 bankruptcy is meant for those who don’t have a lot of property to lose and who want to eliminate their debt and start over. We look at the following three things to determine whether Chapter 7 is the best option for you:

Will you lose any property?

What kind of debt do you have?

How much money do you make? If you make too much, the bankruptcy judge can force you into Chapter 13. To determine if you will be forced into Chapter 13 we will compare your total family income to the total family income of an average family of the same size. Based on this, we make the decision on which direction suits your particular situation.

From here, the moment your file is opened, you can immediately begin sending creditors to our Creditor Hotline so they stop calling you day and night. A benefit of creditors calling after they’ve been informed is we can pursue a harassment suit on your behalf. So, please inform us immediately if creditors continue to call you after they’ve been provided with our hotline number.

On the day of your strategy session, we provide you homework inclusive of a checklist to gather information as well as set up your next two appointments (one appointment where we gather and review all documents and another, final appointment to file with the courts). Don’t worry, we walk you through the entire process.

During your receipt and review of documents session, we will go through everything to make sure it is all complete and we have everything we need. We will also obtain any necessary signatures and schedule an appointment for your final session. An important thing to remember is you must complete a credit counseling class prior to your final visit. Don’t stress it! We will both register you for class and tell you how to complete it.

Our final sessions consist of reviewing documents for accuracy with an attorney and filing with the courts. The attorney will also answer any questions and explain what happens next. Once your case is filled, you are officially protected from all of your creditors. They will not be able to foreclose on your home, your car will be safe, and the garnishment must come off your check. So the sooner we get the case filed, the sooner you will be protected.
